Synology and Firefox -- grrrr

Posted by: Bart on 28 April 2016

I did some Googling for this but maybe not enough.  When I browse to my Synology nas with Firefox, the desktop appears but I can't click on anything; nothing happens.  Nothing is clickable.  I have to use Chrome with the Synology.

Any ideas??

Is this a recently acquired problem? The reason I ask is that the last Firefox update seems to coincide with my wife's yahoo webmail becoming unresponsive.  To fix that (or at least I hope it may have fixed it) I used the "Refresh Firefox" facility which you can find in the help menu or if you google "refresh Firefox" from within Firefox, you can find a Mozilla help page which has a refresh Firefox button on it. Maybe this is something to try to fix your Synology access issue.

Qfinder happily opens the GUIs for both my QNAP servers in Firefox as does bookmarking the servers' reserved network addresses.

QFinder and Synology Assistant are happy to open the GUI's but with Firefox the Synology one is oddly unclickable.  This has been going on for at least  a month I'd say.

I'm a Firefox user for ages and haven't come across this issue.  Maybe a plugin you have?

Yes it could have been a plug-in.  Reddit likes to crash on Firefox for me, and I'm sure that's a plug-in issue too. But at least for now, the Synology web gui is OK on my Firefox so I'll leave it alone.
