Quick question on Unity

Posted by: Marksnaim on 30 April 2016

Can I use the Unity as a Cd player/Radio source using line out into my preamp? I'd assume so. Looks like a simple way to get a Naim one box solution for Cd and FM playback for casula/background listening.

Yes, the line output is pre-volume control.

Why would you need to do that? Uniti already has an onboard 70W amp - just add speakers to it.

I don't have a CD player and the wife wants to be able to listen to the radio through the main system. I don't really want to get a separate CD player and Tuner. A 2nd hand Unity would also allow me to stream should I ever feel the urge!

Thanks.

I believe Uniti also has fixed-level line-out which would be better for this purpose.
