Problem with AirPlay with Mu-so

Posted by: zanc on 30 April 2016

im having serious problems getting AirPlay to work. I have tried both wireless and wired connections to airport extremes (generation 2 and 4) and it refuses to show up on any device I have. The Apple TV I have connected to the same routers connect provide AirPlay immediately.

The WiFi works OK for the radio etc, so that does not seem to be the issues.  I wonder if the Firmware is corrupted or something.

Does anyone know I to re-flash the firmware? I've seen the web page and the warning about only doing it if instructed by Naim. Is that because it is dangerous to the Mu-so to carry out a re-flash?

Where can I find the firmware image?

Andarkian, I have noticed that behaviour as well. However, I think its the fault of the application that is invoked after iTunes is playing. Any application that can play audio/video (but don't necessarily do so at start up) can take control of the audio/video output (i.e. AirPlay). This will stop the iTunes output. Not sure how Spotify works on the Mu-so, but I think your iPhone, iPad (or other device) sends instruction to the Mu-so to play the stream. So the controlling device is no longer in the loop, so you can continue using the device for other apps. This is the same as the Naim app volume control is required to change the volume or internet radio on the Mu-so.

I think the two most offending apps are The Times and The Daily Mail. As I would never read the Guardian I cannot say whether it is anything to do with having a right wing bias.
