Compilations problem

As a new US (and Naim) user I'm encountering this irritating problem (compilation album shows as separate tracks) when I stream from a USB (or the download folder) in the US.
What makes it especially annoying is that when the same USB is streamed from a Mu-so the compilation is recognised and all the tracks are shown in a discrete folder.
Does that suggest the the problem is fixable on the US?
It really depends on many variables. If your music is tagged correctly, you should be able to play it back in a multitude of ways.
Probably the easiest way, with a compliation album of various artists, is to go to 'Albums' on your Naim App and play it back from there.
Richard,
To have compleations appear as one album the US requires the album artist to all be the same. So you will tag all tracks with the artist "Various Artists". Track artists can be different. Sort of a pain but that is the way it works.

Hi Adam, thanks for the suggestion.
However the app (iPhone or Mac) shows compilation albums as single tracks when connecting as UPnP. If I switch to USB/iPod - which is the Mu-so, then compilation albums appear as discrete folders. So I don't think it is a tagging issue.

Thanks. I saw that in earlier posts. My point is really - why does the US treat compilations from external sources one way and the Mu-so another?

Have you cleared the app's cashe? There should be no difference (as you rightly point out) in playbacks.

US is a server, Mu-so is a render and just presents what it is give, so another server may present data in another way. Not totally satisfactory but that is the way it is.

It's a tagging issue and the solution is as previously mentioned, tag the album artist as various artists. The USB interface simply displays folders. UPNP displays based on tags.
If anything it's a customer satisfaction issue (see also recent firmware update post) which should have been sorted out a long time ago.
