Buying Pattern for High Res Audio

Posted by: Bert Schurink on 05 May 2016

Until recent, my buying pattern for high res audio music could be planned. I looked at new music, with my Qobuz sublime subscription I got the music considerably cheaper then anywhere else. As a bonus they had sometimes additional discounts.

Since shortly I have seen that they are very restrictive and even selective in offering new music. Especially in jazz I miss now quite something and it doesn't seem to make sense to wait anymore and just get it from high res audio who seems to have the better collection recently.

Anybody else noticed this - or am I just to eager to get new stuff ?

I think you are exhausting the music supply in your favourite genre.

Talking about jazz - I wish ECM started releasign their back catalogue in high res.....

I don't understand why ECM don't do direct downloads from their lovely new website. You can buy CDs, so why not downloads.

What I am for instance missing is some recent stuff from act with Danielssen, Nesset, the Bill Evans recent album I now downloaded from high res audio. But there are much more examples.

Also something odd I noticed which I couldn't yet benefit from. Sometimes they have an ECM album temporarily 1st day of publishing on the website as mistake on below 19 euros, whe you the. Look the next day it's 17,75 or 20 euros.
