Naim Desktop Client - Share \Downloads status Offline - not able to add my new music .wav format

Hi,

I have copied the new Radiohead album to the Downloads folder in windows explorer \\NSSRV857A\Downloads.

I wish to rescan it using the Desktop Client so that it can pick up the album. However within the client -> Scannable Network Shares I see an entry:

NSSRV857A \Downloads Offline Yes Automatic

I'm assuming that because it is offline I am not able to rescan and find the music. Can you tell me what this status is indicating and how I can fix it?

Note that I acquired the Uniti Serve as a 2nd hand display model from my local Hifi dealer so I believe this entry was already configured when I received the device.

Is there any documentation that describes how to use these tools? I got the client manual and that only appears to have a high level list of tools at the end. Not very helpful.

Thanks

Martin

You need to go to a section where all your drives are visible (US > maintenance >  network shares).

One of the columns will show a status for your Downloads folder. It will read as 'Offline / Do not use'.

Click on it once to highlight it. Section on the right will give you various 'buttons'. One of them will make this share available (I'm writing from memory so I'm a bit fuzzy on some of the actual names).

When I had a Serve I'm sure it scanned new albums automatically. Once you get it working, make sure that you map the downloads folder in your Windows explorer, as this makes copying across far easier - maybe this is already done. And don't forget that you cannot set the Serve to automatically backup the downloads folder: you must do it manually.

I don't suppose that when you bought it you have the option to return it within a certain time? I only ask because the sort of complications you are facing eventually got on my nerves so I sold it and now use a NAS, which is infinitely easier to manage - you'll need a NAS anyway in order to back up the Serve.

Thanks both. In the end I just deleted and re-added the share and it synced and worked, so just seemed to be a sync issue.
