My Desktop Client has lost the "downloads" folder ?

Hello All ,

I have a 2TB Unitiserve and DesktopClient on my PC, all wired connected by LAN and all was working well until I've made some changes in the LAN configuration.

I've resolved all the connection problems you can imagine and all is fixed now ... except ... : the "downloads" folder has disappeared from the "scannable network shares" in Desktop Client.

Windows explorer is seeing perfectly Unitiserve unit and his folders, especially the "downloads" folder and all of its contents. But I can't seen this "downloads" folders with DesktopClients, even after many changes and searches in NAIM forum.
It must be noticed that the Name and IP adress appears in the lower right of the DTC window, with a green circle on the right.
There is an "add new" host button, but apparently it doesn't find the "downloads" folder ?

Thanks for your help

Have you mapped the Unitiserve as a drive in Windows?  Access to the Unitiserve and its folders is a bit hit and miss otherwise, I found.

best

Hi

After a long fight, the problem seems to be solved...

2 corrective actions :

1- As the Unitiserve seemed to be overfilled, I've moved a subfolder to another place in order to recover free space
2- In the DTC "maintenance/scannable network shares/" I've achieved the "add new" command by finding an acceptable syntax : \\NSSRxxxx\downloads

I don't know what actions fixed the problem, first or second , that is the question ?
Anyway, the "rescan" worked and DTC is running now, despite the many little bugs observed whith DTC ....

If you manually delete the share whilst tidying up the shares list then it doesn't get automatically detected again so I suspect that is what you did...

You should re-add it by using "Add New" and entering \\127.0.0.1\Downloads - using the NetBIOS name (as you have) will also work as long as those names are being correctly resolved on your network whereas \\127.0.0.1\Downloads uses "localhost" which is more reliable.
