Help! Problem with Userve!
Posted by: Blakey on 25 June 2011
Hi,
Tonight I was scanning a cd and it never apeared in the list. I did many resaerch through the serve, even looking in the unknown and nothing...
While the disc was scanning, I could see that it did recognize the cd on the net while scanning it but I could not find it on the serve afterward...
It's the only CD that I have noticed doing that. I scanned it twice and nothing....
I have scanned over 800 CDs.
Anybody has experienced this so far?
And I do have the latest operating software.
Thanks!
Vince

Do you have the DTC installed? If so, during the ripping process, you can see in DTC what AMG match was found for this particular CD and futhermore, if any errors occurred during the ripping process...
Hope this helps.

Michel

Hi Vince
I have a UnitiServe on home demo and Massive Attack's Mezzanine exhibits this behavior. Ripped it several times and followed it's progress on the iPad and all seemed well. CD then ejects, but nothing in the Album or Artist categories.
I need Inertia Creeps.....

May have to do with network setup - did your retailer set up your unit?

Hi David,
If it's the configuration that is the problem then why would it fail only with this specific cd?..
By now, I've ripped over 900 cds and It's the only problem I've encountered. I guess that by now, if the network setup would be the problem I would have had more problem than what I'm experiencing now. After all it's only 0,1% of the cds I've ripped. Maybe Naim's tech support would have an opinion on the matter...
Thanks!
Cheers!

I had this issue with Brett Anderson live at union chapel -ripped it 4 times. It transpired it saved under unknown artist......
Worth watching the ripping monitor in case it is saving under a different tittle.

I watched the ripping monitor with Massive Attack and all the tracks and artist were correctly identified but still nothing appeared in the relevant artist or album category; there are no unknown artists either. My demo unit has not been updated with SP2 however......

My UServe is with my dealer at the moment. After 500 or so rips it started to eat the disc, not recognise it, and then sit there leaving me unable to eject it.
I took it into my local dealer and ask that they send it to Naim. They told me that an updated fascia exists, with an eject hole as part of the design.
