Hi, I notice that my unitiserve is not finding any matches on amglookup when ripping but is matching with freedb. Internet is connected as finding matches on freedb online. Could it be that the service is down?

Hi,
Music databases all seem to favour the Western world’s recordings. None would recognise any special Japanese pressings for example... If an album isn't found in the AMG database, the HDX looks into the FreeDB database which has - unfortunately - no cover art.
With what type of albums do your problems occur?

Hi, every CD, even mainstream, working fine, then just seemed to stop and revert to freedb all the time. Strange?

my hdx gets about 35% off freedb, but cover art comes through.
and some times i get a amg with no cover art???

Hi, thanks, tried reboot and checked Internet connection which is fine, finding matches on FreeDB.org online but can't seem to either find AMG online or the DB wont return a match. Checked everything, totally perplexed. Its as if the service is down which seems unlikely? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

As a lark, try setting the DNS settings on your router to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 - don't know why, but it seems that AMG may have gotten caught in the net of some ISP's traffic shaping (streaming services which use AMG for metadata may have hastened this - purely speculative).

Hi, thanks for the tip. I use Opendns and have checked that the dns service is routing the requests which appears to be fine. Most odd that AMG is not responding.

Exactly the same problem here. AMG did work a few days ago, and now no album whatsoever through AMG. Tried Miles Davis Kind of Blue. No AMG online lookup, no art work. Tried reset UnitiServe. Doesn't help. AMG log on NAS says: http://dmr.allmusic.com could not locate any matches. AMG lookup failed. (Connection timeout.).
Strange for Miles Davis .... Frustrating. Why does UnitiServe not connect to AMG. AMG is not down. Manual search for AMG is OK.

Same Issue here, AMG doesn't respond to HDX requests as of today.

Hi, thanks for the post, This looks like it may be a service issue, AMG lookup just stopped working yesterday and the Unitiserve now reverts to FreeDB online with no artwork on every rip including mainstream CDs. No change in settings, very odd?

Must be AMG issue. Checked with a friend of mine. Deleted known album with artwork from dbase. Ripped again, no AMG lookup, no artwork.

Further update, we've checked here and we are getting AMG responses fine. we have however requested information from AMG if they had a service outage.
if your still having AMG hit issues please let me know so we can chase accordingly

Hi. Amg just got in touch. They had a server issue over weekend. But it's all better now.
