Caught up with the Whistle Test program tonight. Another great show and Steve Harley was outstanding. Remember seeing the Edgar Winter Group and Alex Harvey all those years ago absolutely glued to the TV. I think that this show works very well on the radio I hope after this series the powers that be decide to continue with it.

The Edgar Winter group performance is on one of the official DVDs of Whistle Test (there's three out there), there's an Alex Harvey track on the first DVD, but not the one that was broadcast the other night.

'Give My Compliments to the Chef' is on the DVD

'Next' was on the radio program, and I'm sure it was in one of the compilations that were broadcast for Whistle Test's 30th anniversary on the Beeb

All the greatest live band in the world ever BBC recordings are on this double CD set.

And now for under a fiver,

It cost me £13 when it came out.

Some other good stuff on the SAHB DVD.

We are just catching up on iPlayer. Jim Croce and Steve Harley first up not 2 artists I particularly know, put off by their "pop" songs I guess.  Excellent song by SH.

Great to hear a proper musician ie Roger Daltry talking about loosing that touch with the music that ProTools seems to cause.

Similar views by Ian Eames? about the TV producers trying to make the music "more entertaining" by use of weird TV techniques.

The Windsong BBC In Concert release contains possibly my favourite song title of all time;

"There's no lights on the Christmas tree, Mother, they're burning Big Louie tonight"

Did anyone record Wednesday's show (2nd November)???

I've got all of them so far, but missed first half hour, and it's the only show from Wednesday that ISN'T on the iPlayer applet on the Squeezebox.....

If anyone has an HQ copy that they would lend or duplicate.....

You can't record from iPlayer on a computer and I don't think I'm allowed to recommend Audio Hijack or suggest putting a cassette deck in to your Naim UQ even though they both work like a dream - so I'm saying nufink.

Whatever happened to Berlin Fritz?

Yes Stu as I just explained to Graham , a senior moment read OGWT thought Jules H.

I would record it from iPlayer through my SB Touch, but as I mentioned - there's only one of Wednesday's programmes missing, and it's the one I want!

Yes, I could move the PC and hook it up to record it from iPlayer via the laptop, but that's a faff that I was hoping to avoid.......
