Black vs. Grey SNAIC5

I'm wondering about benefits of the black SNAIC5 versus the old grey one.  Was it just for audio, or were there intended improvements for the power lines as well?

Thanks.  This query should still get to the heart of the matter.

This is a forum thread from way back 2001 when the black was introduced .........  https://forums.naimaudio.com/to...ply=1566878607070519

Thanks for that.  I think I'll have to do a comparison to settle my own curiosity.

I tried the black snaics to replace the older grey ones a few years ago on a 72/hicap/180. The black ones were substantially better sounding, it wasn't a subtle difference!

I do recall first changing my grey to a black, and marveling at the improvement.  In this case, though, I'm using the SNAIC5 only for power, and not to carry the audio signal.  (I'm not allowed to explain how I've done this, according to forum rules.)  This is why my query is rather pointed.  I wasn't sure whether there was ever any discussion back in day of whether the the black SNAIC was intended to improve only the audio-signal path, or the power wires as well.  Given it's pure DC, one might surmise that the quality of the wire isn't as important, but I have a feeling I won't settle it until I try it myself.
