Tellurium Q Ultra Blue mains cable
Posted by: Finkfan on 23 May 2016
For my birthday this year, my fantastic family have got me a TQ ultra blue mains cable.
I plugged it in to my CDX2 last night and, whilst my children slept, I had a little listen at low volume. The difference was clear. Lower noise floor, more 'air' around instruments and vocals. A cleaner, clearer presentation all round. Amazing what a decent power cable can do.
Looking forward to having a good listen tonight.
I'll post my findings in the week and see what you think. Not sure which cable will be needed when I add a HCDR at some point.
I've got the HIcap DR so I will need two just for the amp
Finkfan posted:I've just given in to a moment of weakness and purchased a TQ black mains cable from another forum member. Thanks K. Can't wait to hear it on the SN and hear how well it works with the Ultra blue on the CDX2. Delighted to then have a full TQ loom. Will post my findings soon.
Theirs nothing quite like a moment of weakness.. ![]()
Can't afford too many of them though Wenge! ![]()

This is it....do you want black and blue or 2 blacks? Or 2 blues for that matter?
At least with Powerlines you know where you are. The one cable works on everything.
Im sure you'll like the improvement it brings, it worked brilliantly with my Vitus ri-100. Review to follow I hope

The good thing with this moment of weakness....is It doesn't result with the patter of tiny feet..![]()
Can't afford any more of those Wenger!!!
My 'new to me' TQ black mains cable has arrived. Can't listen at a decent volume due to sleeping children. But once again the improvement is fantastic. Plugged into the SN this clearly is the Ultra blues big brother. More of everything the UB does but with a greater bottom end, tight fast bass, more gravitas! Will report more over the weekend. Till then, I'm going back to the music

Give me a shout when you're passing next Wenger!
After getting a few brief moments to compare the cables in various positions in my system I can confirm these cables are awesome!
With the ultra blue on the cdp and standard cable on the amp the blue add an incredible amount of air, clarity, separation and definition to the sound. The soundstage is bigger too. The bass does appear a little lighter but at the same time faster and tighter.
Switching to the black on the cdp and standard on he amp the increases mentioned above are at a better level, but more evenly across the frequency range. Where the blue has a lighter more delicate footprint the black sounds big, bold and powerful. In my system, on some music, the black is too much on the cdp.
Now, with the ultra blue on the cdp and black on the amp we have something very very special. These cables clearly are made for each other. While the blue adds air and grace to the source, the black adds muscle and gravitas. Together they sound incredible!
At some point, if Wenger if up for it, I'll pop round and we'll compare the TQs with his Powerlines and see what the effect is on his DR'd system!
Sounds like a plan....im not sure which will be best?..
I think the TQs sound different. We'll see if you like it!
