Difference between pots6 and pots8 NAC82

Posted by: CletePurcel on 23 May 2016

I am awaiting delivery of a NAC82. It has been serviced in 2014 by Class A and the previous owner says it has a POTS6 upgrade which was done at the same time.

What is the difference between the POTS6 and POTS8 upgrade? Is it worth upgrading to POTS8?

Cheers.

Double check that. It doesn't sound right.

Maybe he means POTS8.

I am going to contact Class A and see what they did.

It's POTS6. Is it worth it to upgrade to POTS8?

You need to get a price for the upgrade, as I think it's quite high, like £300 or more. The best option is not to buy the Pots 6 version unless it's really really cheap, as you can get a Pots 8 for £800 and they are a lot better than Pots 6.

Most POTS8 82s I have seen recently have been £900+

This one has been recently serviced at Class A and cost about £700 so I thought it was quite a reasonable deal as recapping costs about £200 by itself.

I am going to Class A tomorrow so I will ask them about the upgrade.
