Naim App for OS-X ?

Dear Forum
The IoS app is great, and I use it on both an i-phone and i-pad, but when I'm working on my MacBook it would be great if there were a way to control my ND5 XS without having to make sure that one of these mobile devices is close to hand. I know that may be considered 'lazy', but I'd prefer to think about it in terms of efficiency.
Does anyone know whether Naim are working on any sort of Mac/laptop app?
Yours hoping
Nigel

Naim have not announced that they are working on such. Other than periodic revisions to current software (the Naim App, and the firmware for the players), Naim have not announced anything they are working on, software-wise.

I haven't searched, but there must be an equivalent to PlugPlayer (iOS) and "gupnp-tools" (linux) for mac that allows you to control upnp sources and sinks - both work with my ND5 XS.

Its been talked about a few times, app for Windows & OS-X, but no response. I found & tried one of the universal UPnP things but its so basic & concluded its easier to use the iPad. Personally I would rather Naim focus on the existing tablet/phone apps for iOS & Android, however they have new challenges with the other new tablet & smart phone OS's that seem to be evolving into a common brand standard such as Apple have almost done & now it looks the same for MS Windows & RT.

A quick google shows that some or all of Banshee, Kinsky, Plex, PlugPlayer and VLC should work on a mac

Kinsky is what you're looking for. It seems a bit buggy to me however. Sometimes the controls don't do quite what they should.

Personally I have installed BubbleUPnPServer on my server which allows me to use Kazoo (and other OpenHome control points) on the Mac. Not full control but the best I've found for selecting music and also works for volume control.

Kinsky works for volume control -- that control actually works

Thanks for the responses. I'll have a look at Kinsky to see what it's like.
Thanks

You can use JRiver on the OS X machine to force feed your streamer.
