Mu-so Qb - BBC Music Magazine Audio Music Choice

A short but very positive 5-star review of the Qb in the July issue of BBC Music Magazine. Must save up for one.
Surely the BBC Muisc magazine is not that expensive?

Well, since spending every last penny on my SU...
the QB performs very well ,better than sonos 5 but not by much .UK design and manufactured to a VERY high standard. It could have been unbeatably if if had a headphone stage
With no disrespect to the product - which I haven't even heard - a five star review on the audio page of the BBC Music Mag (to which I subscribe, incidentally) is pretty much worthless. I don't know why they waste the paper...

Worthless to who? To those who already know Naim and know the quality ... yes its worthless. But to Naim as a company: well perhaps it will make people who are music lovers (assumed by the fact they are reading BBC Music Magazine) stop and thing before buying a Sonos or Denon wireless speaker. That purchase of a MuSo Qb might then lead to a UnitiQute and then perhaps even a NAC272 and NAP250.
My point was that the 'reviews' there are short, not comparative, and based on the whim of a single individual who does not have a reputation in the hifi press to protect (and who I don't think has ever given less than four stars to anything). I have no objection if the specific review causes someone to join the Naim clan, though I would rather they read more widely before making a decision. Their classical music reviewers, on the other hand, are generally pretty good.
Surely, if the review alerts people to the Naim range the review is not entirely worthless? Admittedly, I take a lot more notice of the reviews in Gramophone, but think the BBC Music Magazine reviews have their place. It could even be an advantage if the reviewer is not concerned about protecting his reputation

Yes, well Gramophone has a proper reviewer, who it is a delight to see contributing here!
Agreed
