Audirvana teething issues

Posted by: SpecCled Trout on 08 June 2016

This morning I paid my license fee for Audirvana using Paypal.

Since then I have heard nothing, no confirmation email, no license code. Nada.

I have tried contacting Audirvana. Nada.

The money has gone and I have a Paypal transaction to prove it. Is this kind of delay normal?

Secondly I am trying to link it to my Tidal account and here lies the rub. I have used my Facebook Login to register with Tidal. The way Tidal seems to work is that it relies on that and so does not store the password.

Audirvana requires the Tidal password to connect. Catch 22 it seems.

Any thoughts?

Many thanks,

David

Talk to Damien (contact@audirvana.com), he is a great guy, and he will respond very quickly IME.

Thank you - I filled in the contact form on the website this morning and heard nothing back. I will try Damien directly.

Thanks - I have written to Damien. I did not realise there was a forum. I will go and seek it out.

Damien is very responsive and I'm sure he will sort you out.  If I remember rightly I got an email in response to my payment which had a registration number thingy.  Worth checking that it's not been intercepted by your spam filter perhaps.  I signed up for Tidal using the three months free trial you get if you subscribe to Audirvana and liked it so much I just kept it running.  I hope your sorted out soon because Audirvana and Tidal are excellent.

The Tidal aspect may be the easier to sort out as to get the three months free you have to be a new subscriber. So I can end my 30 day free trial and set up a new trial once I get the confirmation sorted out.

I am looking forward to it.

Tidal from my iPhone straight into the nDAC is pretty impressive. The Tidal rips (mostly) seem to be well mastered.

I was very impressed with Tidal via Audirvana, much better than Qobuz and good enough for serious listening to new music and playlists, but you can also get a free trial to Qobuz with Audirvana if you want to try them both

Tidal via Audirvana into the nDAC is superb. Even though it is now late at night and I am listening very quietly it is still really impressive.

Yep, and this is just the beginning as there are a lot of ways to optimize the system.

Agreed.  Are you upsampling to DSD?  It's a new facility and the sound is fantastic

I am connecting the MM to the nDAC via the TOSLINK and I don't think it supports DSD. For that I would need a USB bridge of some sort. I am currently deciding whether to invest in a Gustard U12 or a Supernova 7 glass cable.

There are mixed reviews on here some preferring one over the other.
