CDX2 broken?

Posted by: lescouse on 11 June 2016

I have just bought a second hand CDX2 2006 vintage, it sounds amazing, so a good purchase.

However the 'Naim arc' doesn't light up. Does anyone know if it should light up and therefore I have a fault that requires rectifying or does the Naim logo not light up on a cdx2?

Or am I missing a trick?

It should light up when the unit is powered up.

+1 for that. The buttons and logo should either all be on or all off

If nothing is lit. Press cd on your remote. Then press display.

I'm pretty sure I have a fault

I can switch the display on and off, but the logo is out.....

I will give it a switch off and see if that cures the problem, otherwise the cd2x will be paying a visit to Sailsbury

The logo must always be lit when switched on, even if the display is switched off.

Oh yeah! It's been a while since I've had time to listen in the dark!

Am I misremembering things, or could the brightness of the logo on units of that vintage be adjusted somehow?

That would be a negative!

Second hand and 2006 - hard to imagine you have a warranty.

Question now is whether you can live without a lit logo or want to pay to have it repaired.

Bought secondhand from a UK Naim dealer one could expect a 3 month warranty.

In that case you ought to be taking up the matter with the dealer. Hope you get it fixed
