Computer-Fi

Posted by: Will Dias on 11 June 2016

Just overhauled the 2nd system in our dining room (which doubles as a stuy in our terraced house). The computer's in the bay window, at the end of a refectory table. We listen to/watch music while we eat. It was a (still quite impressive to the average punter) Rega Brio/Heybrook Helios combo, now upgraded to Nait 2/Linn Katan. It just sounds wonderful. The Katans are so close in character to Kans (which I've always loved, but ths system has no wall behind), and the Nait 2 is everything I've read - probably (£ for £) THE best naim amp ever.

Computer-fi

Most of my friends don't even have this level of stuff on their main system, and they think I'm mad to have the main system I have). What d others have to accompany their computer?

Regards,

Will.

If the direct URL is clean, it should be fine.  Usually issues only crop up if the site is not so clean or there's something within the URL address or description that triggers the filters.

Graham, if you want you can post on this thread and I can then place it within the FAQ.

Hi Richard, my post any use for the FAQ?

Will, does the Nait fit under the SamDi without the bamboo bases?

FYI, I recently sold my amp and am now listening to my SL-2s driven by my Nait2 and it's ridiculously good for what it is.

Frank.

I drove my SL2 with my Nait2 for ages. It was amazing what that combo could do.

Interesting stuff.  Rather than make a Hifi for a computer, I chose to make a computer for a Hifi.  And that was a good decision.  I could have just bunged a Mac Mini in there and saved a few quid, but decided to take matters into my own hands, and built a PC with one purpose in mind.  I also created my own media player to be sure I knew everyting  that was going on.  The result?  It works, oh yes.  :-)
