Packing CD2

Looked threads from years ago - and looked on web for instructions - to no avail

I am either dim, or it is just not clear ?!

Does anyone know how to fit the packing piece to support the laser during transit - it defeats me ?

Still do not think it is very obvious - even from picture - took a bit of fiddling - then felt a bit foolish when I got it fitted
