XPS-DR basic hook up 101

I received my XPS-DR yesterday and I'm excited to try it out. My XPS will be mated with my NAC-N 272 and 250DR combo. Even after reading the owners manual, I'm not clear on how to hook this up (!). Please provide your expert guidance. 
Does the power cord on the 272 remain plugged into the wall?
Does the power cord on the XPS also get plugged into the wall?
Or, does the does just the power cord for the XPS power both the XPS & the 272?
Which do you turn on first the XPS or the 272?
