20% off the price of Super Lumina Cables?

Just had an email off a well-known HiFi retailer from whom I have purchased my Naim gear with the following offer:

"TRADE IN YOUR OLD NAIM CABLES AND WE'LL REFUND THE PRICE YOU PAID AGAINST A LIKE FOR LIKE PAIR OF NAIM SUPER LUMINA CABLES! IF YOU DON'T OWN NAIM CABLES, BUT WE'LL GIVE YOU 20% OFF SUPER LUMINA WHEN YOU TRADE IN ANY OTHER LIKE FOR LIKE CABLE!"

Now the English isn't brilliant so it's a little open to interpretation but it does appear that it may be possible to save some money here if you're in this market...

Seems to me to be just a Summer promotion to increase sales at a slow time.  The "trade-in" is so that it looks like a trade-in rather than a discount.  There will be no account taken of the value of the trade-in for the dealer.

Linn did something similar - you could trade in any CD player to get a chunk off a DS last year, all the dealer had to do was provide Linn with a serial number of a CD player - could've been any make and value.
