Good to hear. For me the bass grip, weight with power and punch is the highlight of the 555 PS.

Agreed - And the presence at lower volume is greatly increased. I don't get that feeling of having to crank it up to really hear what the system can do.

+1  and I'd like to add that so far I've found the 555 PS to be a killer upgrade from the XPS2 regardless of host component  Given the price difference it ought to. Our NAC-N 272 thought it could take things easy with a XPS2 DR until the 555 PS DR came along gave the NAC-N 272 a wake up call

It is!

Mind you, when I tested it on my (now soon to be sold) NDX I didn't quite like it. 555PS took the NDX to a place where it wasno longer comfortable to my ears. However when an NDS arrived - a completely different story

That was my experience too. The XPS2 was a bit better than my XP5XS but the 555PS was a huge leap.

adding the 555 to my 272 has made a huge difference to the enjoyment of the music and even spoken word on Radio 4 & TV feed.

Found I had to move the speakers out an inch to re-balance the increased bottom end

i read everything on Forum and talk with some experienced friends still can not decide if XPS DR vs 555PS DR for NAC 272, will it be a overkill? some say it is, some say it is not, i wish i had the chance to listen an compare but i don't, i have a year before buying a PS anyway so i will keep on reading, so thank you all

The question is which one!  A debate for a year and it is part of the fun 

Can't wait for my new 555PS to arrive to take over from my XPS DR powering my NDS. Expectations are running high and more do since the unit has  just arrived at my dealer. Build times are down - 3 weeks for this one I think.

You will love it it. The system will take few days to settle down - after a week it will sound wonderful. 

Looks like I'll have it next Wenesday. Sooner would have been possible but I have the delights of jury service to contend with!

What Adam said. You're going to love it. It will be worth the wait.

Next Wednesday is the day. Then it's living up to my promise of no more toys until next year. I'll just try to blank that SL  loom from my mind until then I promise to be good, honest.
