psu compatible with SN2 + DAC-V1

Posted by: BobbyBlitz on 01 July 2016

Hi Everyone,

I am a happy owner of a Dac-V1 + SN2 + Mac mini runnig Audirvana plus. Coming from V1/Nap100, it has been a huge step in terms of image, detail and bass control.
I think I can have more refinement on high frequences, so I'm getting the idea of trying a psu like Hicap 2 Dr or other.
In my combination  which psu is suitable? Hicap2 dr of course, but what about Xps dr or Supercap dr?

I know that supercap is more reccomended on pre/power solution, considering the price, but I want best sound possible with less boxes possible

Any advice is appreciated!

You cannot use an XPS and i doubt i'd bother with the SCDR unless you had a spare one sitting around.... The HCDR would fit the bill, it is the same size as the DacV1 so all three units could sit on two shelves. Any more than this and it's likely the DacV1 would start to show its weakness compared to other sources. Another thought is to demo the SN2 against the DacV1 going straight in to a better power amp like the 250DR so long as you don't need an analogue input. I'm not saying it would be better, but depending on your room and speakers, you may prefer it.

Hi Gary! Thanks for reply.

I own SN2 from 1 month and I can't take 250dr for now.

So the solution would be try possibly at home Hicap2 dr AND see what will happen!
