Movie maker for Macbook

Anyone have any experience or recommendations for movie editing software for Macbook. I've just bought one of those little action movie cameras and need some movie making / editing software for Mac. I don't want to buy without recommendation as it usually ends up with fingers burnt and wishing I had not purchased.

Advice appreciated.

iMovie, which if your mac is recent will be available in the mac store for free.

iMovie or if you need more control Final Cut Pro X. FCP is a bit more accessible than competing non-linear editors from Adobe and Avid.
