Large art file size FLAC issue

Has or is this being resolved or do I need to go through and edit my FLAC files with smaller embedded files so they will play on my NDX?

Hi Steve

At this time you need to re-size to a reasonable file size. On my server I had to remove the old file from the tags and then add the new smaller file. Once done all my files have played without issue.

I think (and I emphasise think), that I read that this will be addressed in the future.

Thanks Peter.

Was just trying to save myself some work.

I've done a few already; about 150kB seems to be the tipping point.

It's clearly not the only issue though which causes FLAC files not to play as I just attempted to play a 24-bit Rolling Stones album (downloaded from HD tracks) and it played the 1st track then wouldn't play any others and then wouldn't play the first track a second time. Switching off and on again cured the problem, but the embedded art on these tracks was only 70kB.

Can I apply to be a tester for Naim?

Why imbed art at all?  Doesn't everything use a "folder.jpg" these days?  Seems like a waste of space.

No problem with either Flac files playing or size of album art in Asset.  There is a dialog box that needs to be checked off that limits art to 160 but when it is turned off you can pretty much put any size you like in and the Naim renderer at the Qute or NDX end shows it beautifuly.
