Unstable Browser Interface for UnitiServe?

Posted by: My name on 08 July 2011

New to UnitiServe SSD and its server software. Working with Apple and QNAP NAS 239 Pro II+. Wired network on an NDX.

Renaming music is very unstable. Sometimes you wait and wait and nothing happens, sometimes the server SW just crashes. Very disappointing interface. Even typing Caps appears to be problematic. Why doesn't NAIM come with a program like it does for Windoze users. Why is there no solution to missing artwork (other database besides AMG, do a new search for artwork after ripping)

About half of the time AMG does not provide artwork. iTunes does a much better job (except for audio quality of course).

Although the audio quality of the NAIM products is outstanding, but the userinterface just isn't. Anybody having the same experience or am I missing something?

How are you changing file names if not using windows?

By using the NAIM server software through Apple's Safari browser on the UnitiServe's LAN IP Address.

The browser interface allows changing names, but not uploading artwork. I don't know about stability problems, but the browser interface, which is just a copy of the (HDX) front panel display, is certainly very insufficient, and inefficient for a larger screen. You have all the right to complain about the lack of  a decent interface of Naim server/harddiscplayer products for Mac users.

I know that artwork isn't possible. It would be nice to have that feature. Because AMG half of the time does not provide artwork (even for mainstream titles) it SHOULD be a feature on the browser interface. I agree that the browser interface is insufficient. Of course I can use Apple's Windows simulator, but hey I am an Apple guy. I do not use any piece of Windows Software. Apple has become so mainstream that NAIM should have a good Apple tool like the supplied CD for Windows. It just doesn't make sense this way. It really is a bummer.

I can only laugh at this!

I am neither Apple nor Windows guy. I am proficient in both and plead for decent software for both platforms. Fanaticism brings only agony to this world.

I am sorry if I am taking your humorous remarks too seriously.
