UnitiQute 2 with NAP 100 vs SuperUniti

Posted by: Acoustics Guy on 20 July 2016

I am thinking of replacing my SN with possibly a UnitiQute 2 with NAP 100 or SuperUniti primarily so I can stream FM via the Tuner5 while I work. Has anyone compared what the NAP100 brings to the UnitiQute 2 or these two compared to the SuperUniti.

Speakers are Harbeth M30.1. Music is classical played at relatively low volume so as not to disturb my staff. When I want them out of the office, out comes the Stockhausen or Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music!

Your Supernait is a better amp than any of the Unitis you are considering. I would consider keeping it and adding iRadio by other means.

Just get an AURULiC Aries Mini to do all of your streaming needs. Fantastic solution.

If it's the original Supernait, you should find the SU to be at least as good. It's an ideal one box setup. That said, the Aries would be a cheaper solution and I believe would let you stream Qobuz, which the SU won't. Come to think of it, a Chromecast Audio for £15, optically connected to the Snait Dac may be enough, though I found its quality a bit underwhelming.

Stream Qobuz and Tidal not to mention internet radio via vTuner (same as Naim). Play music via Bluetooth and Apple AirPlay. And then fit a 2.5" internal HDD/SSD and rip your music to it (no need for a NAS - it is the NAS, you can use a NAS if you want to as well). Be interesting to see how the Mini's internal DAC shapes up against the SN's.

Bluesound Node 2 is sometimes rated higher than the Auralic Aries Mini, particularly for 'musical involvement' (however it does direct file reads rather than using UPnP).

peronally I would never trade an original SN for an SU. In fact , I d do the other way round as did a friend of mine for a better sound.

but in your case it would still be a good idea since even you used a squeezebox and a good ps on it,you would be way behind the streamer in the UQ.

And again the streamer in the SU is much better than the latter. So the SU gets sense if you re just after streaming. Audition.

If you are thinking of the AURULiC Aries Mini then I would also look at the Sonore microRendu.
