Tidal can now stream directly to Chromecast

Just doing an update on Tidal and apparently Chromecast is now included. I could do it before via Chromecast app on Android but not on IOS and not directly from Tidal App

Just tried it and it works!

Yay

Thanks for that, wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

How do you have your Chromecast set up? I got one for my daughter to stream her Spotify and it sounds awful. Thanks

Yes, it does sound awful regardless whether it is Tidal or Spotify.

Doesn't sound to bad to me, mind you it's playing through a cheapo system which is nothing compared to Naim so maybe my expectations aren't to high.

Obviously if you're used to listening to Naim equipment and then listen through a mass produced 'stereo' it's going to sound poor, but I don't think the chromecast actually degrades the sound quality of whatever it's plugged into.

Just my thoughts.

's funny, sounds OK to me. I want to say especially for fifteen quid but frankly I don't think it needs qualification

OK, doesn't hit the heights of the 272 but as long as you've got it set to hifi or extreme or whatever (defaults to that if optical link is used) then it seems pretty cool to me. Certainly it's on most of my working day in the study, either with radio iplayer or Tidal/Spotify, Plugged into my near 30 year old ION Obelisk 3 and then out through some Neat Iotas it's great IMO.
