I'm using a Goldring Eroica low output coil here and impressed for the money! One for the list.

If you like Ortofon why not try the Quintet series of MC cartridges, i have the quintet Blue and really pleased with it

An AT OC9 would match well and is, as noted elsewhere on the forum, a brilliant and affordable cartridge.

Purely on personal experience another vote for Dynavector.

Had word with my local dealer/friend who has lent me a new dynavector 20x2l and said i can keep it for a month and if i like it can have it half price, will set it up tonight not sure what to expect as never heard any dynavector carts.

I am another happy owner. I have a Michell Orbe with a Michell Tecnoarm (a re-worked RB300), so my set-up should be sonically similar to your own, and to my ears it's a great match.

The key thing for me is that as MC cartridges go, it is relatively affordable. I am sure there are many better cartridges out there (from Dynavector and others), but the 20X2 is for me an ideal price point in relation to the amount of time I spend listening to vinyl.

Hope you enjoy it, and at half-price it will be a real bargain.

Well when he says half price I think what he means is "I've made enough money from you over the past few years and can afford to do a good deal as you've basically already paid for it"

well after setting up Dynavector 20x2l which was nice and easy i managed to convince my other half to spend the weekend with her friends (not so easy) I have spent pretty much the whole weekend listening music  I don't have a huge amount of experience with carts maybe listened to 20-30 at most I have to say this thing sounds amazing wider sound stage and better bass control and just makes things sound thwt much more alive. So I feel that my Vivo blue falling apart was one of those happy'ish acidents. Think I will be keeping it.

Glad you like it.

Dazza,I don't have experience of the 20x2l but one thing I can say is that if it helps you reconnect with your music then it's done it's job. I love my DV cart and don't intend changing any time soon.
