i might sound like a nutter keep bringing up this cable sorry. i have just had installed a new dedicated spur by a qualified sparky after hearing about this cable. i tried it as a mains lead on my naim cd5xs  i was gob/smacked at the improvement. so i installed it throughout my naim system. brilliant. the cable in question is beldon 19364 audio grade cable from mcru at cables r us co .uk so i have just had it in stalled as a mains spur as well. can i suggest you try one of mcru no 27 mains power leads on your cd and read review. uses the same cable. if you are as impressed as i am. try D.i.Y USING SAME CABLE FITTED WITH. MS HD POWER COPPER UK MAINS PLUG /FURUTECH F1.11.N (G) IEC  AND AMR FUSES.............. WHEN YOU GET ROUND TO INSTALLING A NEW MAINS SPUR USE BELDON 19364 AND A MS HD POWER UK WALL SOCKET.

MY SYSTEM IS . CD5XS FLATCAP XS DAC NAC 202 NAP200 HICAP OLIVE

And the question..?

And indeed in the UK that cable can only be used as a spur or fly lead  (and not ring or regular radial) as the max current at 50 foot is 13 amps

radial  using 2.5mmm2 is all that is required .fitting larger csa cables into sockets just puts mechanical stress at the connection, and loose connections are more likely. see it time after time

Sorry there is some confusion, first it wasn't a question I was replying to someone on this site who had asked about a mains lead.

Second if someone could advise me about this I would be grateful, i have had a consumer unit fitted from the RDC consumer unit by an electrician, from that I have had two,  4 meter lengths of Beldon cable as a flow and return to my wall socket as advised by Russ Andrews in one of his manuals (Russ Connections) is this correct I would appreciate any advice.
