Superuniti and playlists

All,

Is the number of playlists limited to 4 on a SU. It seems that whenever I create more than 4 using the iPad, they disappear shortly afterwards and have gone?

Also, the 4 playlists I'm allowed to creat can't be viewed on a smart phone using the Naim app, I can only see them on the iPad, is this common also?

Thanks,

Ray.

P.s. Playlists are chosen from my Nas(ripped music from a previously owned HDX)

If you are creating the playlists on the Naim app itself, I'm pretty sure you can create more than four. They are saved on the individual device, so aren't visible on a different device, although it is possible to transfer them manually.

A better way to manage playlists, in my view, is to create then on the NAS/UPnP server you use to store your music. They will then be visible on any device as a folder in the UPnP input.

Chrissu,

yes, you're right it appears that playlists are indeed saved to device(I created a different one on the smart phone).  I assumed they would save on SU as 1 or 2 playlists that I created on the HDX backed up to NAS(perhaps where HDX is concerned the playlists are actually stored on the unit itself???).

Anyhow, the plot thickens, the playlists created on my Samsung a6 have vanished. So iPad saves 4, smart phone saves nil. God knows why that is, can't be an issue with the naim app, someone would have noticed that long ago I guess.

As Chris wrote - playlist are NOT stored on a streamer (SuperUniti in your case). They either reside on your NAS / UPnP server or on your control device. By far the best option is to create them on a server level. This way they also get backed up.

If you back up an iOS device to iTunes it should back up the Naim app, including playlists. I would still recommend keeping them on your server as a better option though.
