UnitiServer SSD + UnitiQute2b + Nap 100 (maybe a Dac V1)

I am thinking of adding a Dac V1 to my set up. Running a pair of ProAc Tablette Anniversary's, which sound great. Anyone every do this?

What will be the function of the DAC in this setup since you have the UQ2?

The UQ2 will be used a streamer only. The DAC V1 will be used as a DAC/Pre.

Several have posted on this topic. I don't think the V1 will add very much SQ to the Q2. I would rather consider the SN2, possibly a nDAC or a Hugo at a later stage.

Thanks for your note Chag - decided against the V1 after you and several others made the same claim. I don't use a computer for my audio source so it seems the Q2 will suffice. Have you heard the Hugo? Thoughts on Chord vs. Naim?

I think with a source like UQ, you don't need an external DAC. It is fine on it's own, especially as you have already added a NAP100 to it. My advice is - just leave it as it is and spend the cash on music

Pacmi,

I suppose that you did it, but it is important that you set "Speakers NONE" in the setup menu of the UQ. With this you switch off the amp section of it and improve a little bit your audio quality of the UQ output.
