Is this Nac 62 original?

I have this Nac 62 and wonder if this little foam piece under the motherboard is an original part or some kind of modification? It seems to be glued to the case so I could not try it without.

Yes it is.

it's not foam. It's sorbothane.

Ok, thanks! Is it used in other shoebox preamps as well?

The NAC12 had foam glued to the underside of the bolt-down lid.  When the lid was closed and bolted down the foam would press down on the top most edge of all the daughterboards.  However, I'd be surprised if any survive with the foam completely intact after so many years.  On my own NAC12 the foam disintegrated long ago.

do the classic preamp like 202 and 282 have these sorbothane or foam under the boards

what about 72. 82 or 52?

No, Naim developed suspension type board fixings on the later pre-amps,
