Hi All, I have been running my system and speakers from new now for a year, I bought Chord Signature Array cables ect as well. I have read here and elsewhere that the sound will finally snap into focus after burn in ect, but I really didn't know what to expect. At first the sound was flat and dull, then sharp and bright. I played around with everything and waited, then a couple of months ago I sat down to play a cd, and I instantly heard a sound that was taught, sharp and crystal clear! Everything had settled in and it sounded awesome. It is a) such a relief after spending a fortune, and b) so enjoyable to be able to listen to the whole sound without searching for flaws. I might have OCD because I have been a bit fanatical, and after awhile I was wondering if I'd made a huge mistake. I feel so happy I just wanted to share the news, and remind others like myself that once again, patience and persistence pays off. From Santana to Sabbath and in between I now kick back and just listen, not critique, and it is wonderful! Next stop, DR the 250.2 & get a good DAC/Streamer

I think there must be something 'wrong' with the way I listen to a system.
I've never heard a system 'click into focus' after a delay. I've heard changes in the sound over the first few hours (and for speakers this can be many tens of hours) but after that significant changes to the sound, positive or negative, have always be a direct consequence of other changes I've made (like moving speakers, adding glass sheets and dome nuts to the rack, changing cables or altering the programming of the DSP that controls my sub).
N.B. I'm not saying that such 'burn in' changes cannot occur (whether they be to the system or to the user!), just that not everyone experiences them.

Steve, glad to hear about your new found improvement and you are enjoying your system so much.
I had a 'clicks into focus' experience a couple of weeks ago which was a bit bewildering as not much had changed in recent months except a new SL interconnect 4 months ago but is did coincide with me sorting out the SL IC which was touching the back of the Fraim. This leap in SQ has thankfully stayed.
I am still not sure how much of this experience is in the head (psychological) and how much is real due to running in/cable dressing/other unexplained changes. Anyway, who cares, I am just enjoying the music.

Steve Mate, get a mains spur done,, then grab a slab of 4x, tell your wife you hope to see here again and besure to wear your crash helmet. Your down under like me. Stereo mains spurs are absolutely astonishing on naim audio. If you have three phases into your house put your Stereo on its own Phase, (i'm starting to salivate) Get a qualified electrician to do it so you comply to all Aussie rules. If you think the cats out of the bag at the moment,oh no it's not, you wait till the tiger licks lips as it raises its head with a pussy cat tail flossing between its teeth.
ive had a clicking of sorts, that's when I my mana rack arrived and I phased it x2 (so far). A truly joyous occasion. I felt wow so that's naim audio fast and fast and pRat hard and smash! Warm audio is just hifi IMO. Some folks do not like mana racks, I just think they don't know how to set them up correctly.

Sonus, thanks mate, I have had a dedicated line and RCD fitted with a 30 amp plug. The electrician used 15 amp cable, he assured me it was enough, and I found it improved things as well. I also bought an Isotek Syncro and Sirius board to squeeze the most out of it. Not being a sparky I took a punt on all this because I had no clue if it would work or I was just burning money but so far I'm happy. Great to hear from you, I don't know many Naimites down our way.

Arrr I love It!
you know what, my house is from the late 60's so it has a ceramic fuse holders. I had my sparky buddy change out all the other fuse to rcd but I kept the big oven ceramic holder which went to my olives none switched Heritage plug (made in Australia BTW) I picked up some 32 amp fuse wire and bang! Oh the fuse wire is direction too. Best VFM eh.
i know a number of naimites here in Chc. It's a disease lol
did you get the sparky to put a big separate bus bar in and get it connected up with the big 50mm Square Earth cable?
Posted on: 22 August 2016 by Sounsfaber
Bus bar is what your board earths to. Then a big earth wire goes off from that bus bar to a Earth rod in the ground. Basically just re-earthing your stereo. Seems how Nz bases its sparky rules pretty much on Aussie. If you like here's my email stevenmatts@hotmail.com contact me and I'll send the written instruction on how to do it. Naturally you would be getting a qualified Sparky to do the job So he can make the call on the "Ausses" way to do it. Really big big improvement. Seems your 3/4 with the wiring any how.not too big money as coppers really cheap right at the moment. To me it was like another power supply box upgrade.
Pls note our northern hemisphere brothers of another mother. What I'm taking about here has nothing to do with your country. Get it wrong could mean a very very bad day at the office. Seek advice from your naim dealer / qualified electrician to achieve similar results.
So Aussie Steve best to fine a sparky that likes beer (shouldn't be to hard lol) and music as they will follow the instructions to the T. To get the best possible results Wire direction IS important. Don't let them tell you other wise. Also good to keep an eye on the job you know get the OCD out.
Best Regards Rooster aka Steve

Thanks Steve, I'll contact you later do discuss. OCD is my middle name, so much so I think I may have a problem
I have found the sparky and his company are not fond of being questioned, but they are the most trustworthy in my city. I will follow what you say though as it is the same as many others have repeated here. I just e-mailed Chris Murphy, he is coming to Melbourne on Thursday so I am taking up my 250.2 to get DR'ed
After that I'll get the wiring sorted out. Cheers Steve
