Can some one tell me the weight of an olive Nait 2, I have to organise shipping.
Many thanks.

I've never heard a Nait 2 and suspect I never will, but I'm definitely with on hankering after a 60s Benz. A 280SE coupe or cabriolet would do very nicely indeed!
You're in luck MDS! There's this little beauty for sale in my local independent Merc. dealer :-
...only £200K, a snip!

Oh yes there are.
(Sorry, my childish side couldn't resist)
If the old Nait2 would sell for 200K, I wouldn't trade it even for a Merc!
Well, I see my little Nait 2 has caused some friction here!
It arrived this morning and has been warming up all day; I have just given it a proper test with Touch by Yello and Girl in the Other Room by Diana Krall and it sounds remarkable.
The context here is important, it's driving my Klipsch Fortes which are at 98DB and it is well within its comfort zone, CDS up top.
I'm getting a full range room filling sound with the vol at 8o/c, crank it up I get a rock concert!
The Klipsch give such presence, it's like being at Ronnie Scotts and the Nait 2 brings the timing and drive, it's a very real rendition and I like it!
So, in this context it remains a stunning amplifier and worthy of it's strong reputation, certainly a high watermark in Naim's history.
Gaius @ Alba 1320,
Funny you mention the Klipsch Forte's a mate used to have some Klipsch loudspeakers,I don't know if they where Forte's but he's using Consanance 211 Triode monoblocks which are 7 watts a channel with a Modright LS 100 preamp. The SPL levels where seriously loud at 11 o'clock.I once asked him what the amps where pushing out and he said maybe 2 watts pure class A.Sounded absolutely lovely with Jazz and blues.Timbre of instruments sounded fabulous to my ears.Just goes to show you don't need huge amounts of watts in our hobby.Hes now changed his Klipschs for some big Focal Electra 920.1 which are a mere 92 dB.Hes still got high SPL levels.Brilliant speakers.
Glad your enjoying your Nait 2
Best wishes Ian

Sadly, Southsea lacks a corniche ;-)
C.
I am now playing the Nait 2 on my MKI Kans, CDS up top spinning Klaus Schulze & Peter Namlook Dark Side Of The Moog, I highly recommend these 3 box sets....
They are just meant to be together such is the synergy. Huge sound, totally engaging and musical.
One really could leave it there such is the sound.
And folk say Kans can't do bass...
Nice one Mark! One of the most musical combos i've used at home..... CDS3/Nait2/Kan1.... and your CDS1 looks better with the Nait. You know it makes sense
