Sound from only one channel on Unitiqute V1

Posted by: Ian Brown on 19 August 2016

I purchased a demo Unitiqute V1 from my dealer roughly a year ago and used it in my home system as a source.

I brought it to my office today to try it out with speakers for the first time.  I am only getting sound from one channel. Ordinarily I'd be calling the dealer right away (I had a similar problem with my Nait 5 in the winter) but I'm wondering with all the electronics built into the Qute if it's something I can fiddle with in the settings?

Thanks in advance for any input or advice!

(The one speaker does sound very good!)

If you swap the loudspeakers leads over into the UQ, does the single channel stay with the same speaker or move to the other one?  If it moves then it's the UQ. If it stays on the same speaker then you most likely have a speaker cable or connection issue. That could be a broken wire or it could be the two wires touching each other, most probably at one end or the other.

I don't think there are any settings in the UQ that would give you only one channel.  There is a balance control, but it doesn't allow you to turn either channel right off. So if the problem is in the UQ then I think you do need to talk to your dealer.
