Moulettes

Can I suggest checking out this band?

I first saw them supporting Bellowhead a couple of years ago and bought their 3rd album, on vinyl, at the gig, then the first two on CD soon after but probably best to start with their recent issue, Preternatural. I'm going to discribe their music as steamprog, possibly not a band for the urban realists though.

Every now and then, a post comes along that makes me feel really old.

I have never heard of either Bellowhead or Moulettes, have never come across a musical genre called 'Steamprog' , nor am I aware of the term 'Urban Realists' .

A full house!

Still, I will give them a listen.

Don't worry I had to look up preternatural.

Two great bands from the more Folky side of things, Bellowed now sadly finished, you might want to look up Tunng too not going to try to categorise them, Comments of the Inner Chorus is a great CD.

Sorry for making you feel old, I reckon Moulettes might appeal to the odd Yes fan with a folky tendency, some might find it twee. I made up steamprog as an allusion to steampunk, punk it ain't. If it constitutes a genre I'm unaware of it but why not?

I'm 56 by the way.

Moulettes - nice band, a little folky/pop. I have one album - "Constellations" which I have enjoyed.
