Speaker cable inductance...Speaker plugs

Have been using a few different type of bananna plug on my new Nac a5 ..4 meters no less...I can hear the laughing...I am suprised at how the sound changed in character with each type of plug..Over the years I have collected quite a few...I disliked the gold ones that you screw to the cable . the music became very shouty and edgy...I then soldered some linn bananna plugs to both ends of the cable ' the music was much less shouty but a little bland soundstage wise...I then tried the gold type that have a big screw on the back and you feed the cable into at right angles ' these were terrible I just did not enjoy anything about them...I have since soldered the correct naim plugs to the cable and everything just fell into place today. Was using nac a 4 ' Things were very good ' But the sound has just got bigger and more fluid with the nac a5..
Im wondering how much better these Rega Mk 1 ELA 's can sound..Got Otis Taylor on as I am writing and it is as if he is in the room ; great imaging..
My question ' is the length of the cable as important to its inductance and capacitance ' optimum working load ' as speaker cable plugs being made of different materials ' density etc. Or do they matter as much as each other ?? I was talking to someone a while ago who produced bespoke cartridge pre amps for turntables with pure soft copper in certain areas ' and said that made all the difference to overall sound...Little things count...
Anyway sorry if this thread exists ' but would welcome any comments..Really enjoying naim gear...
