PS Audio Dectet Power Centre, Wireworld Matrix 2 or Isotek Evo 3 Polaris

Does anyone have experience with any of these? Not too sure which one will be suitable and won't rob the dynamics off music when used with Naim equipment.

Any thoughts which one will work best with Naim equipment?

1. Wireworld Matrix 2

2. PS Audio Dectet Power Centre

3. Isotek Evo 3 Polaris

From the many, many, many threads on power conditioning that exist on this forum, short of spending £5,000+ on a huge mains regenerator, the only solutions that seem to be beneficial, retain musical dynamics and avoid slowing the music down are:

  1. a dedicated radial supply, where it is practical to install one
  2. a well engineered dc blocker
  3. a balanced power supply (I.e. a large isolating transformer)

all cost a fraction of the cost of a large mains regenerator such as a PS Audio P10 (if I recall the model correctly).

I use options 1. and 3., which work very well for our Naim system.

If you just want a mains distribution block, then the Graham's Hydra (as effective as it is ugly), the MusicWorks ReFlex and the Wireworld matrix all have their followers. We use the MusicWorks block on the advice of our Naim dealer.

YMMV

hope this helps, FT

Thanks FT. I have done a search prior to creating this thread. I have read your posts on the Wireworld Matrix and the plug-in order for all equipment.

I think I will get the Wireworld Matrix 2. A friend who owns Naim amps read about the graham Hydra on this forum and bought it for his system. Unfortunately it lasted for several days before it was dismantled from the system. Apparently the Hydra made his system sound worse (he only needed more connections and wasn't really looking for a sound improvement).

I just need more connections , not really looking for an uplift in sound quality (though it's a bonus if there is one). Currently I am  using an ultra-cheap power strip,  all sockets fully utilised. I have another new equipment coming in soon, hence the need of a new power strip.

I use an Isotek Sirius, and it works fine. Be careful the strip can take enough watts/amps to supply your amp for example, that's vital. Added conditioning as provided by PS Audio for example is frowned upon by most here.  The Wireworld website doesn't seem to offer specs, so check first. If you use Naim stock power cords, I'd suggest spending your cash on a dedicated line from your fusebox to the wall socket, then plug in all together on the one socket, amp, then pre, then sources (from the socket out) That is recommended by most, including my retailer and distributor. The Polaris takes 2300 watts, or 1100 watts (US) and takes a max of 10 amps. Divide that by 6 and it equates to 1.66 amps each and max 383 watts per socket. If so ensure you use a good power cord from the wall socket to the Polaris, say the Isotek Evo 3 Sequel to ensure enough current gets to the unit. Good Luck!

I think you pretty much nailed the answer to the OP!
