Finding rooms, No rooms found

Posted by: The Pitt on 31 August 2016

I'm trying to stream from my MacBook with Asset UPnp to my Unity 2 with either my I pad or iPhone with Naim app .

It normally works after a fashion  but now the app shows" Finding rooms".

Can any one tell me whats wrong?

The "room" your app can't find is your Uniti 2.  So this probably means that your Uniti 2 is no longer on your network.  First thing to do is restart the Uniti 2. If that doesn't work then I would restart your router and your Uniti 2, in that order and waiting for the router to fully settle before turning the Uniti 2 back on.

if you are using cable between the Uniti 2 and the router then check it's plugged in properly at both ends.

Report back here if none of that works!

You could also try restarting the Naim app but I doubt if that is the problem, especially if you are getting the same problem with your iPhone and iPad.  Note that you can only have one of the Naim apps active at once.

I had a similar issue with my NDS, which still happens now and again.

Check out this previous topic, particularly the solution proposed by MIKEB, about halfway down.

https://forums.naimaudio.com/topic/no-rooms-found-2

In my case, the problem seems to be an issue between my router, my NAS, and the NDS, where, somewhere along the line, when I start the Naim app on my iPad, your problem occurs. Following the above recommended procedure solves the issue for me, until the next time it happens!

Good luck!

Have the same problem with Naim app and my Unitilite. Instead of rebooting the router or Unitilite, I simply select web radio (with the old school remote) which causes the Unitilite to reconnect to the network. Wait a bit as the reconnect takes a while, and it appears again in the Naim app. My Unitilite is connected via WiFi.

Did the reboot, nothing turned off the apple router, tried again but noticed the wi fi symbol on my Mac was out, reselected my apple router and

I have my UPnp again.

Why are there always issues with these things?

Does anyone know why I get very little metadata on the app, just a few albums have artwork ?

Many thanks by the way.

Not sure why you should be missing most of your artwork, I assume you are using your MacBook with Asset to rip CD's as WAV files.?

I use my HDX for ripping purposes, which solves the metadata issue with WAV rips.

I don't know anything about Asset, but would assume there's an edit function available?

Failing that, I use Naim's nServe app in order to provide missing artwork or to edit album metadata which is incorrect.

Anyway, glad you've resolved the "No rooms found" problem.
