Z-Foil??

I'm running a Superline / Supercap into a 252/300 DR based system. Turntable is a Rega RP 10 with Apheta 2.

What exactly is a Z-foil and what would it do for my system relative to the little plugs that I currently have plugged into the back of my Supercap? Is this a Naim produced product, or does it come from a 3rd party. If third party is it considered an acceptable mod from the Naim people?

It's a non-inductive, high precision, high stability (read expensive) resistor.  What it would do depends on how you use it.

Thanks Huge.

My understanding is that the Z Foil simply replaces the resistor plug that currently sits in my Superline. Are there other applications?

The Z foli loading resistors are available from Naim in their Air Plug (the plug used on the hiline), my last cost me £150. They will even change the value of the resistor in a returned plug if you change your mind or cartridge.

The first one I ordered (as a Z plug) came with normal cylindrical resistors in it so it might be worth having your dealer open it up to check.
