RF and Mains hum

I've been trying a lot of products out lately. DACs, servers, amps etc.

I had some mains hum (light) with my Chord 2Qute / TP 12/2. Or at least I thought I did.

I finally realised tonight that the iMac, if plugged in to a socket or adapter socket preceeding any other piece of equipment picks up random radio statios (wifi off) and sends this signal through to the dac/amp/speakers. I could hear classic FM! I don't even listen to it! Bonkers.

So i switched the iMac to the the second socket, after the DAC, and all the mains hum and interference has gone. I thought it was the iMax but turns out the other elements are just picking up RF from the iMac enroute.

Only mild static at high volume point left. Does anyone know if static hiss can be remove also? Or this unavoidable.

So if you have any humming/buzzy throught the speakers, try plugging the computer in after the other elements or as far separate as possible.

The EE MiniMax DAC is impressive, but then I put the Hugo back in... and well that's the end of that story. Hugo is just extra special in terms of musical emotion.
