iOS 10

Now that we have iOS 10, please may we have control for the Naim App as a separate page in the control panel flipped up from the bottom of an iPad/iPhone screen? This would avoid having to go back into the App to change volume etc. This would be most useful.

............. and NOT FORGETTING that not all iOS devises can take iOS-10, the 2 series (the first that can take iOS-10) may have been launched in 2013/14, but the early series Pads & Mini's were still being sold by Apple in 2015 - Apple have been highly criticised over this issue. I see this as a challenge & for Naim to work support at all earlier iOS software levels as a priority, OK if something can easily be added as a iOS-10 feature that does not impinge on the operation of iOS-9 & earlier software, but please don't waste resources on it.
Feeping Creaturism.
That is a very good point. Obviously the App must be compatible with all Apple devices. Possibly the Control Panel page could be present in the App but only available when the device can support it. I also agree that it is not essential.
However, I'm not sure I agree with the idea that it is "Feeping Creaturism". Things progress at an alarming rate: not to keep abreast of current technology is probably not such a good idea.
Would be nice if their was a now playing on the lock screen with basic play controls. Others do it, why can't Naim?
The remote control is handy though, as it can pause and play, and change the volume, very easily. I'm not sure what the iPad control panel actually is, to be honest.

It's actually pretty tricky. It took Sonos about 18 months to implement now playing on the lock screen. On one occasion it made it through beta testing only to be pulled at the last moment.
I was happy when I read about the "Wake by Raise" function. And that it should be possible to deactivate the lock screen. It would be so great: I pick up the ipad. The screen turns on and the last opened (e.g. naim) app can be used without being blocked by a lock screen. You would not need a "Click home to activate screen" and "wipe to unlock" or now in iOS 10 "Click home to activate screen" and "Click home again to skip the lock screen". This handling is very annoying (always was). Would it make sense to report this to apple somehow?
If you can afford naim hifi you can afford a new iPad!
Not if you have spent all of your money on a Naim hifi perhaps. And if you already have a perfectly good iPad why would you want to buy another just because there is more functionality available? I'm still using my works IPad 2 which is now slow and occasionally irritating but it still does its job for 95% of what I need it for. I would not want to get onto an endless upgrade path everytime Apple bring out new features that require new hardware especially just to use it as a remote control for hifi. Apple do very well as it is without my help

That'd be a shame if someone leveraged their family finances into Naim hifi to the point that a $320 (refurbished from Apple) iPad Air 2 is beyond reach. One might have philosophical disagreement with the purchase, but from a purely financial point of view it seems a "red herring."

Yep, anything that works on the lock screen needs to be bullet-proof in terms of security. It otherwise presents a vulnerability that compromises the security of the device. It's hard.
Most people on the forum have invested a large amount of money on their Naim equipment. (Indeed, I am deemed by my friends and family to have spent a ludicrous amount, and my protestations that it's very modest compared with some people falls on uncomprehending ears. Needless to say, I persist.) Beyond the forum, many will only have a Muso or Qb, and the cost of a new iPad just to run it would be considered exorbitant.
Naim faces the same choices all app manufacturers face: take advantage of the new OS features or cater for the legacy market. It's hard to do both effectively without forking the development path, which they can't afford to do. So inevitably there's some compromise, and that's what we should expect.
How about a naim app on the mac
