US Download folder peculiarity

Posted by: Richard Morris on 16 September 2016

I've been adding files to the US download folder. All contain flac files plus a folder.jpeg. All have been edited first in Metadatics.

The first two files added showed up in the n-Serve 'Newest' list and the Naim app 'Newest CDs' list. Subsequent files added do not show in either list although they appear in the Albums list and can be seen and played by the Naim iPhone app into a Mu-so.

Not of any great significance but I wonder if anyone has any ideas?

A similar thing happened to a FLAC download from Classics Online. Only the first two tracks would show up. I then tried adding one track at a time, but still couldn't get more than four tracks to appear on the US downloads folder.

Playing around with XLD, I inadvertently converted the files from FLAC to FLAC and that solved it, strangely enough. All tracks now appear properly on the downloads folder.

Try clearing nServe cache, closing the app and re-starting it again.

I've found discrepancies between the Last Played, Newest and other folders on the Naim app vs N-Serve. In theory, the streamer/app just shows you the content presented to it by the Server, but in practice this is not always the case. Odd, but I won't be losing any sleep over it.

It could be worth checking the time/date on the Serve. Your BIOS battery could be going flat, causing it to lose time/date settings.

All failing, you are welcome to join the Dead UnitiServes Society

Good idea but didn't work.

Thanks but date/time are correct.

Slightly tongue in cheek, but try selling the US and using a nas. It's so much easier.

Occasionally I get this as well. Some high-res downloads (only in FLAC though) do not show up in the RECENT folder.

I used to obsess about it, but nowadays I just enjoy the music
