Why are female singers always good looking - objectively?

Is it because looks brings self confidence?
is it because they can't really sing and the sound engineers manipulate the voice to have the beautiful face?
Consciousmess, just wanted you to know that some of us have placed bets on how long you are keeping this comedy going, and I'm doing well. Please don't stop!
I take your jears with warm intent!
But maybe there is a serious curiosity there? Look at all the famous female singers, ignoring opera singers - they all have looks above the typical 'average', I'm non-judgemental (here) but do wonder. Is it a sociological answer?

'Jeers'
Okay, I'll bite.
Who are you thinking of when you ask that--Barbra Streisand? Celine Dion? Taylor Swift? Natalie Merchant?

I have a member of my family who was recently suprised to discover that the Bee Gees were not a black African band. Saying when he had heard them all these years on the radio they sounded as if they were.

Seriously? Have you ever taken a good look at Adele - objectively?
Of course that analogy could be applied to Jan-Erik Nordoen's picture - a few beers, couple of shots and sweetheart where've you been all my life? Room 401 is free!

She looks good to me.
Well, there's cover-shot Adele and then there's everyday Adele ...
A different reality and we ought to simply appreciate Adele for her exceptional voice. Point being that female singers are not "always" good looking.
I'd be happy to look at that everyday.
Because the world is full of double standards...
photoshop!

People like to think that beauty is in the eye of beholder (its sound so politically correct..?), but lets face it beauty sells more then boring average looks, and if good looks can sing as well and maybe have a personality then we are in mega bucks! Why stop at female singers, just look at the Classical magazine which will advertise various stunning female classical musicians with their make up and come and get me costumes, thinking man's crumpet! Then you have the tennis stars, oh I can go on and on...
I'm not convinced that the OP's postulation is correct: some are attracive, some not (to me), and some wear too much makeup to be able to judge. But then I tend to listen and not look at the pictures, so maybe that excludes me!
Don't forget Madonna's slippery climb up the greasy pole of popularity. What with those underage commissioned nude photos of herself that were probably sent to most of the label bosses, with those paying interest being offered some relief of sorts no doubt.
What has objectivity got to do with it?
