No rooms found and/or streamer not responding

Posted by: ray sheldon on 24 September 2016

All,

Confused as to what's suddenly happened when using my iPad to control NAC272. It was working perfectly fine selecting music from my NAS until I changed my router and braodband supplier, which shouldn't make any difference of course once you have connected your iPad to the wifi which works fine. The 272 is network wired to a network switch which is obviously connected the the router.

All other equipment wired to the network switch works perfectly so I'm pretty sure there is no faults anywhere with the network switch or iPad for that matter.

Bizarely, using my Samasung phone has no problems controlling the 272 and fires up every time.

using iPad prompts 'no rooms found'.

After manually adding room, I.e. Inputting IP address and streamer type, the message is 'streamer not responding'.

This happened last week when I changed my broadband provider, although I fixed it by rebooting 272, router, network switch and iPad.

Of course, I don't want to be doing this every time I want to use the iPad.

I've deleted the naim app and reinstalled several times to no avail.

anyone any ideas!

Thanks,

Ray.

Are you using ios10? I have started to experience a few network performance funnies since upgrading to ios10.. as well as the forum display occasionally crashing on my iPad...

Hi Ray,

I've had, and occasionally still have, the "no rooms found" scenario.

There have been a few threads on the subject, so I've posted a link to one of them for you.

Hopefully, you will find the answer to this frustrating issue.

I'm also using iOS 10, but haven't (so far), had the problems reported by Simon, so I guess it's more of a router / network issue.

Not sure what it was as coincidentally I have just done an update but now it's showing 9.3.5 ?

Thanks, I'll have a read later.

Never had any problems with unitilite, superuniti or HDX (using nServe of course), all using same iPad.

If you've just updated & now have iOS 9.3.5,  thats means it does not have the hardware to update to iOS 10 & iOS 9 is as far as your iPad can go.      No probs IMO,  provided Naim keep supporting the legacy stuff.

You changed the router and the behaviour of the network changed - there may be a clue here.
