Mu-so flashing red light

Posted by: Dune buggy on 25 September 2016

Over the last week or so, my mu-so, used for music and TV sound bar in the lounge, has begun suddenly cutting out and the entire unit flashes and the indicator light on the side flashes red.  Nothing in my setup has changed in the last 6 months and the muso is wired to the apple time capsule n-router . I also have a qb in the kitchen which is behaving normally. I've tried resetting it a couple of times via the hole, and downgraded the firmware, but nothing works for longer than about an hour before it flashes red again.  Hardware issue? Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks for any advice.

By way of follow-up, I reset my router and the problem seems to have gone away.  Will post again if it reappears.

Now it's back again.  Actually getting really fed up with this now.  It shouldn't be this random, esp as I have another unit in the kitchen with no similar issues (yet). Back to dealer?

I'd contact Naim support - send them an email and see what they say?

A flashing red light means, according to the muso support page on the Naim website, "system fault or amplifier overload". So nothing to do with the network.  If a factory reset doesn't sort it, which you said it didn't, or at least not for long, then I suspect it needs to go back to Naim for a repair.

Thanks for your replies.  Yes, Naim support agree it's a unit fault and it should be returned.  Luckily just still within the warranty, but this mu-so hasn't exactly been smooth sailing.
