QNAP Backup ?

Posted by: al9315 on 25 September 2016

Hi Just tried to backup my server (QNAP) files USB --> External Drive

I have done this 2 or 3 times before with no issues:-

I created a folder on the External drive (as I have done before) and just did a real time backup

45mins later the status is "Standby"

I have now tried twice with the same result

Under "Job Logs" it states " Destination does not support changing file mode! "

It does appear to have copied all my music files over, but do not like the "Standby" status

Can anyone help please - anyone else had this ???

Thanks,

Al

Restart it.

If I recall QNAP has a function of going into standby if no network activity is detected (i.e. It's not required to serve anything to other devices). I suspect this is causing it to go into a standby mode.

If it's copied all the files, then it sounds as though the task is done. My Qnap has USB sockets on the front, and a backup button. You just plug the drive in, press the button and it automatically does a differential backup. Is that what you are doing?
