That's is a very bad start to the day, many commiserations and I hope you can get them repaired.  We brought home a puppy last night so I was up all night getting him settled.  It's not lost on me that we will need to get him accustomed to living in a house with a lot of black boxes and cables in the corner.  Hope you get things sorted out soon.

I'm always wiping slobber spots off the Qute. (blind Labrador, photo in profile!). That's one thing to be said for it, a bit of black electrician's tape over the USB port / minijack and it's environmentally sealed from most guff.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune but no more coffee or drinks near high voltage equipment. It could have been so much worse.

Using baby gates I trained my puppy from the onset that she was allowed only in the family room (which has egress to the outdoors and garage). The gates were removed after 2-3 months and 9+ years later my dog has never strayed. She's an integral family member that we interact with in our primary living space. I really don't need her to be in the kitchen, bedroom or listening room. Great for whole-house hygiene and the room configuration of our house is beneficial to her boundaries.

ha ha.the dog that spilt my coffee is 6 years old and knows better.he has free roam of the ground floor.so he can guard all the doors from people wanting to steal my large music collection that i can now only look at.

With four whippets, we've had our share of incidents. Ceramic dish that was a wedding present from my sister remains the most significant breakage. The S600s have nice, rigid grills. That prevents damage there.

That's why you shouldn't have coffee at your desk :-)

At least that's what your wife contends :-)

Seriously though... hope you get everything mended / sorted.

I'm sure that it was an accident by your dear doggie, and he's just a bit clumsy and is very sorry.

Now, if it had been a cat.........
