How do I post images in a thread?

How do I post images to a post in a thread?

I posted a jpg link and it appeared as a link. I edited the post and used the upload attachments widget but the image appeared as a tiny thumbnail.

Do I need to encapsulate the URL with anything or do I need to use imageshack or similar sites?

Frank, If it's one of your photos, upload it to Imageshack (or similar) and copy the url, or just copy the existing url from whatever site it's from, if it's just an album cover or similar.

Then, hit 'Post Reply', and in most browsers, you should see a row of small icons up top; hit the one to the left of the smiley, 'Insert/edit image', and a new window opens; paste the url in the top box, 'Image URL' - if you hit 'Appearance', you can adjust the size/position if you want; hit 'Insert' and it should show up with any text you've already written; hit 'Submit Reply' as usual.

That's about it.
